To promote career development for subspecialty division chiefs, the Association of Specialty Professors (ASP) sponsors numerous activities and initiatives. These activities provide opportunities for subspecialty division chiefs to disucss emerging topics, share best practices, and network with colleagues.

2009 ASP New Division Chiefs Seminar

On February 7, 2009, more than 100 division chiefs attended the first "ASP Seminar for New Division Chiefs: How to Be a Successful Internal Medicine Division Chief." Division chiefs from all internal medicine divisions were encouraged to attend.

Recognizing a need to help new division chiefs acclimate to their leadership position, the ASP Member Services Committee designed a one-day meeting to provide current and aspiring division chiefs with “hands-on” information and advice about leadership, faculty development, and division management.
