To promote career development for fellowship program directors, the Association of Specialty Professors (ASP) sponsors numerous activities and initiatives. These activities provide opportunities for fellowship program directors to disucss emerging topics, share best practices, and network with colleagues.

2010 ASP Accreditation Seminar

In spring 2010, ASP will hold the "ASP Accreditation Seminar: Meeting ACGME and RRC-IM Standards for Successful Fellowship Programs." Recognizing a need to help fellowship program directors and administrators better understand the requirements for fellowship programs outlined by the Residency Review Committee for Internal Medicine, the ASP Member Services Committee designed this one-day meeting to provide fellowship program directors and administrators with “hands-on” information to prepare for site visits and accreditation.

Directors from all internal medicine fellowship programs are encouraged to attend. Programs that will undergo a site visit within the next two years will find the seminar of particular value.
