The 2009 ASP New Division Chiefs Seminar, "How to Be a Successful Internal Medicine Division Chief," was held Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency DFW in Dallas, TX.

New this year, the seminar provides division chiefs in all subspecialties an introduction to the "business skills" necessary to succeed as a leader. Topics to be addressed include financial management, recruitment, working with difficult faculty, and other issues. Speakers provide a variety of perspectives, from deans to chairs to chief administrative officers, from research-intensive to education-focused institutions, from small and large programs.
